How to Choose a Dual 4″ Line Array OEM Supplier for Outdoor Events?

“I need a PA system for 200 people outside. Will a dual 4” line array actually be loud enough, or is it a toy?”

That’s the exact message a guy from Texas sent me last week. He’d been burned before – bought a “portable line array” on Amazon that couldn’t even beat his phone speaker.

I work at Lesound. We’re a 4” line array China manufacturer. I’ve been here 9 years. I’ve tested dozens of systems. And I’ll tell you straight: most cheap line arrays are garbage. But the ones we build? Different story.

Let me walk you through our VS5000. Not the marketing fluff. The real stuff. The stuff you only learn after you’ve shipped 10,000 units.

First thing first: why dual 4” instead of one big 12” top?

A lot of people ask this. Here’s the short answer: coverage.

A regular speaker fires sound in a cone. Close to the stage? Your ears bleed. 30 meters back? You can’t hear the vocals. A dual 4” line array makes a cylinder wave. Sound drops way less over distance. So the guy in the back hears almost the same as the guy up front.

Our VS5000 uses three line array boxes. Each box has two 4” fullrange drivers + one 1” tweeter. That’s six 4” drivers and three tweeters total. Throw pattern is 90° horizontal, 90° vertical. Wide enough for a wedding tent or a small festival stage.

But here’s the catch – and most factories won’t tell you this. A line array without proper DSP is useless. The drivers will cancel each other and sound like crap. That’s why we put a programmable DSP inside the subwoofer. More on that later.

The numbers that matter (and the ones that are lies)

When I talk to customers, they always ask about watts. “1400W peak? That’s huge!”

Yeah, but peak means nothing. RMS is what counts. Our amp is Class-D, 500W+200W RMS (1400W peak). That’s honest.

Here’s what actually matters for a 3 way line array PA speaker factory like us:

  • Max SPL: 121dB at 1 meter. Tested with pink noise for 30 minutes, not a single millisecond peak. That covers 150-200 people outdoors. Inside a bar or church? 300 easy.
  • Frequency response: 55Hz – 20kHz. The 15” sub handles the low end. The 4” drivers do mids. The tweeter does highs.
  • Crossover points: 120Hz and 2.5kHz. That means the sub stops at 120Hz. The 4” drivers take 120Hz-2.5kHz. The tweeter takes above 2.5kHz. Clean, no overlap.

No fake numbers. Our active speaker ODM China factory tests every batch. I’ve personally watched them stack 10 units in a room and run them at 90% volume for an hour. If one fails, the whole batch gets rechecked.

The VS5000 – what you actually get (with a table)

I hate it when sellers just list specs without telling you what they mean. So here’s a table that actually explains stuff.

Feature Spec What It Means for You
System type 15” sub + 3 x dual‑4” line array One box. No extra amp rack. No crossover to figure out.
Amplifier power 500W+200W RMS (1400W peak) Loud enough for 200 people. And it’s Class‑D, so no heavy transformer.
Max SPL 121dB @ 1m Real world: you can do a school gym, a backyard party, a small wedding.
Frequency range        55Hz – 20kHz You’ll feel the kick drum. Vocals stay clear.
DSP Programmable, ±6dB EQ, Echo, GT Effects, Reverb         You don’t need a separate mixer. Tune the sound for your room.
Bluetooth TWS 5.0 Stream from your phone. Pair two systems for stereo.
Inputs Combo x2, RCA, 3.5mm, USB‑A Mics, guitars, laptops, phones – plug them all in. 4 channels built in.
Outputs Speakon (to tops), Male XLR (link to another sub) Add more speakers later. Daisy‑chain for bigger gigs.
Protections Thermal, RMS Won’t shut down during a hot outdoor summer gig.
Cabinet material MDF subwoofer, PP line array, steel grille Tough enough to throw in a van. Light enough to carry alone.

This isn’t a toy. This is a custom 3 way line array speaker that fits in a car trunk.

“Can you make a custom dual 4” line array for my brand?”

Yes. Every week. Lesound is a dual 4” line array OEM supplier. Here’s what we’ve done for other customers:

  • Logo – laser engraving or silk screen on the grille or side panel.
  • Colors – black is standard. But we’ve made white, grey, blue, even a neon green for a rental company.
  • Grille design – round holes, hex mesh, or with foam behind.
  • Cables – longer speakon cables between sub and tops. Or shorter. Whatever.
  • Flight case – custom rolling case with your logo. We design it.

One customer from California sells on Amazon. He needed a 4” line array for amazon that wouldn’t get destroyed by FedEx. We added thicker cardboard corners, double foam, and a “fragile” sticker. His damage rate went from 15% to under 3%.

Another customer – a production company in the UK – wanted a dual 4” line array custom factory to make the poles 30cm taller. We did it in two days. Sent him CAD drawings, he approved, we built.

What about ODM – your own design from scratch?

We do that too. As an active PA speaker OEM China partner, we can build whatever you sketch. Different drivers? Different subwoofer size? Battery powered? We’ve done it.

A startup from Australia sent us a napkin drawing. They wanted a line array that could run off a drill battery. We engineered it. Now they sell it for $999 AUD.

Minimum order for ODM is higher than OEM. But we’ve done as few as 50 units for new brands. We don’t force you to buy a container.

Real questions from real customers (answered)

I get these every week. So here’s the honest answers.

Q1: “Is 121dB SPL real or fake?”
Real. We test with a proper SPL meter, 1 meter away, pink noise, for 30 seconds. Our 3 way line array manufacturer China publishes RMS SPL, not peak. Peak would be about 124dB, but we don’t lie.

Q2: “Can I use the line array without the sub?”
No. The DSP crossover lives inside the sub. The line array boxes get signal above 120Hz only. Without the sub, you lose lows. But trust me – you want the sub anyway. It makes the whole system sound full.

Q3: “Bluetooth range?”
About 15 meters if nothing is in the way. TWS (True Wireless Stereo) lets you pair two VS5000 systems for left/right. That’s rare at this price.

Q4: “I run sound for a church. Will the pastor’s voice feedback?”
No if you set it right. The DSP has a 6-band EQ (actually more, but you get ±6dB control). Cut 200-300Hz to reduce muddy feedback. Boost 3kHz for clarity. Also has reverb for worship singers, echo for karaoke nights.

Q5: “Warranty and spare parts?”
2 years on electronics. 1 year on drivers. We keep spare amps and speakers for 5 years. If you’re an active speaker ODM China factory customer, we’ll even send you a spare parts kit with your first order.

Three dumb mistakes buyers make

Mistake #1: Ignoring DSP.
Cheap systems have no processing. They sound harsh and boxy. Our VS5000 lets you save presets – “Indoor”, “Outdoor”, “Speech”, “Music”. You can also add echo, reverb, and guitar effects. Yes, GT Effects means you can plug in an electric guitar and get delay/reverb. It’s built in.

Mistake #2: Buying passive and then under-powering it.
Active is simpler. No matching amps. No heavy rack. The VS5000’s amp is inside the sub. Plug in power and go.

Mistake #3: Not checking vertical coverage.
A line array needs to be aimed right. We include a bracket that lets you angle the top module down. The bottom two stack straight. That gives even sound from front row to back.

Why work with Lesound instead of some trading company?

Because we’re the factory. You’re talking to a 3 way line array PA speaker factory that builds everything in-house. Wood cutting. Voice coil winding. PCB assembly. Final test.

That means:

  • Lower price – no middleman.
  • Faster samples – 10-15 days for OEM changes.
  • Real answers – I can walk to the engineer’s desk and ask him anything in 30 seconds.

I’ve seen customers waste months emailing “suppliers” who just resell from another factory. Then they find us. Get a quote in one day. Order within a week.

Ready to stop browsing and start buying?

You’ve read the specs. You’ve seen the table. You probably still have questions about your specific event, your brand, or your budget. That’s fine.

Here’s what I need from you to give you a real quote:

  • How many units? 10, 100, 500?
  • Customization? Logo, color, grille, different cable?
  • Where will you sell? Amazon, rental, install, live sound?
  • Any special request? Longer pole, waterproof coating, different tweeter?

Hit the contact form on this page. Write “VS5000 – line array quote” in the subject. I’ll reply within 24 hours with:

  • Real photos of the system on our production line.
  • A price list for OEM and ODM.
  • Lead time (usually 25-35 days for 100 units).
  • Sample policy (we ship one system to your door for testing).

No automated replies. No “we will get back to you in 5-7 business days.” Just a real person from a dual 4” line array OEM supplier who actually builds the product.

Let’s make your next PA system loud, clear, and profitable.
